CONTACT TURNER E. HAMPEL

Turner was born and raised in Northern Ontario, having lived here for most of his life. Turner is a graduate of the J.D. Program at the University of Ottawa. While in law school, he was on the executive committee of the First Generation Network for Ottawa law students and was one of the founders of uOttawa’s student family law club, Family Law in Practice. Before law school, Turner attended Nipissing University where he earned an Honours Bachelors of Arts, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Political Science.

Before joining Girones Bourdon Kelly Lawyers,  Turner worked as a Student-at-Law at Mendonca Law Office in Timmins, working mainly with clients in family and child protection matters. He also worked as a summer student in the legal offices of Ontario Northland in 2017 & 2018. Turner also currently serves as a Board Member with Amelia Rising, an organization that supports survivors of sexual violence in his hometown of North Bay. He was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2020.

Turner is an avid follower of Canadian & International politics, and has traveled to a number of historical sites in Europe related to the First & Second World Wars. He is also a strong competitor at board games and trivia contests.

Turner will be practicing mainly in the areas of criminal law, family law & civil litigation.
